Music at Christ First

 

Music forms an important part of our worship at Christ First. We express our faith through a variety of music, from traditional to contemporary, with lots of opportunity for people to participate. We celebrate diversity, including Two Spirit peoples and the LGBTQIA+ communities, and warmly welcome everyone!

 

We are blessed to have music leadership with both Boris Treivus and Greg McCausland who are working together to provide music for our worship services.

 The praise Band

We glorify God through modern and contemporary music through the Praise Band All ages and stages are welcome!

 

The Christ First Choir

The Christ First Choir consists of a dedicated and enthusiastic group of sopranos, altos, tenors and basses of varying skill levels and backgrounds, led by Boris Treivus . We enjoy coming together to sing a variety of hymns, songs, anthems, spirituals and contemporary choral works in our worship services. The choir rehearses Thursday evenings at 7pm in the Clarkson sanctuary. Check out the rehearsal schedule here.

Bell Canto

We are an enthusiastic Hand Bell Ensemble with over 27 years of experience. We ring Schulmerich Hand Bells as well as Chimes. We enjoy ringing everything from Non-Secular to Secular music. At times, we "take the show on the road" and ring at events outside Christ First. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7pm until 8:30pm and have the goal to ring monthly at our Sunday worship service. New members are always welcome and the ability to read music is recommended.  Please contact the office if you are interested in coming to a rehearsal. Kids Opportunities

Throughout the year, we engage in various musical activities in our Sunday School and other Children's Programming, including drumming, chimes, boomwhackers, and ukuleles. Kids will have opportunities to share music with the congregation during the Advent season, and during other significant services throughout the year. Some of our more mature musicians are invited to join our Praise Band from time to time! Does your child love music and you'd like to get them involved?
